Yes, that's the one I was thinking of (I couldn't remember the name of the road !)

I was up there the other week.

Their are a couple of really cheap Petrol stations around there / that area.

Yeah, I got to the gas station, sign say 2.29gal, I got to the pump, digital pump meter say 2.26 gal, Wish i had mor than 10$s to put in, While pumping, I notice a sign on the wall outside the building,

"Pedestrains must show ID upon request, violaters will be prosicuted"

Whaa? I already was pumping gas or I might have looked for a station alittle more 4th amendment friendly. I know it's a bussiness and not public ground, but OMG, it just blew my mind is all. To see that, it was like "where am I?"

anyway, i guess it's 2.26 a gal here, bring your ID. lol

.

Fun Factor : Now you have a choice in chat, factor that

For the Americans, the exchange is 3.7 litres to the gallon.

So that equals $4.18 gallon.  That's what we are currently paying!!

And we think that is cheap?

I did hear on the news that it hadn't gone down in some country areas, I hope it does and that the country people also get the benefit of lower prices

Varies around this area from 1.27 to 1.39 depending where you are. Sick of being shafted.

In one of my past lives, I sold petrol for 15 cents a litre, plus a free car wash.

I remember hell raising weekends with hubby (before we were married)

Petrol for the whole weekend for the FE Holden was 4 bob (40 cents)

We are the highest in Victoria and our price is "controlled" by one of the owners,(he sets the price and they all

follow or he'll run them out of business).

Everyone knows it but nothing is done about it,(complaints seem to fall on deaf ears)stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

And who is this controller ?

IMHO, Lack of competition is the big issue in the country now.

I even notice two Woolworths stores around locally have different prices depending on what the petrol station across the road from them is doing.

For decades all the service stations in my city had the same price for petrol to the decimal point. I believe, as do many others, that there was collusion. The last few years have seen some change as new retailers move in.

Agree, they all watched each other until one broke and then it dropped
- I can't remember what day it was that was normally the lowest.

But now of course you have two new players in the market where selling petrol for a profit is NOT

the name of the game.

When that occurs, the dynamics change.
