I agree with everything in your post.

I have set it up because it needs to be set up in case I have to go to hospital.  Relatives have to manage my affairs then, whether it is for 6 weeks, 6 years, or until I die. 

Even if it for 6 weeks only, they can't touch anything without the security in place.

Just another tip for those making wills, make sure you spell the names correctly. My uncle spelt my name wrong, it wasn't a massive hurdle but all the paperwork had to have my name followed by (in the will named ***** *****). So make sure the names are spelt correctly and the person is also identified by their relationship to you and their address.

My solicitor made an error in the first draft, then another error in the second draft.  Or rather whoever did the typing did or they both did.

And I am ridiculed (on this forum) for being astute and thorough with legal affairs.  What if I had "left it up to" my solicitor and just signed the will with the errors?
