and whether you are on ADSL, ADSL 2+ or something better.

I'm on ADSL 2. Seems to be running okay at the moment, but I'm sitting 2 feet away from the modem and the only one online.

I did clear cache, maybe that has helped.

Will do the speed test again when it's playing up.

Well mine is 2.67 DL   and .55 UP, yet it's running quite fast.  I don't get it. 

Ping whatever that is is 44ms. 

ADSL2 and near the exchange. 

If you are near the exchange, you should be getting more than 3Mbps, at least 5 or 6 as a minimum.

I know mine is low and why it is that way but it doesn't worry me and I know why.

But someone close like you, I'd ask a few questions.

Ping - I never worry about it.

Ping (whatever that is) 37 ms

Download 12.46 Mbps

Upload 0.87 Mbps

 

I am yet to run a scan, might download AVG free and then maybe a call to Telstra.

Telstra will say your speed is good and there is nothing more to do.

Ping is not bad, speed is ok for one but will bog down with lots of users and devices, upload is abysmal and large files (image/video) will take ages.

At work and getting

Ping 11ms

DL 45.8Mbps

UL 16.49Mbps

Home is a different story.

It's about the same ping with about 18DL and 4.5UL (Mbps)

Decided to test daughter's wifi while I'm here

ADSL2  DL 16.99  UL .86  ping 19

Sounds good to me

Yep, all good... if you don't upload a lot.  Heaps better than most get.
