The honey has worked in Indonesia before.  Wouldn't it have been better if the PM had done the same?  Months ago?

What? don't you think he and all the government officials and diplomats  has been doing that? of course they have.

There was no threat to Indonesia but a gentle reminder that they are are friends and friends don't kill each other's citizens.

Polks

Tell me where the honey has worked before ?

We threaten to bomb them with F111s
We force East Timor
Our two armies get into a few fire fights and they come off with a bloody nose with dead soldiers
- not well known publicly
We spy on them electronically
We send troops into Indonesia, west timor to spy

Plenty of honey in that lot NOT

Really.

You would have bragged about it if you had done ANYTHING.

That's your way.

this is the funniest post on this entire thread!!! Smiley LOL

Abbott had no right to 'handle' this situation the way he did.
Once again  his lack of tact has put Australians in a bad light.

he is now even accused of being the reason these two poor benighted Australians will be executed.  Being accused that it's his fault if they are executed. How funny do you find that?

They are executed for being ring leaders, and drug smugglers of over 8kg's of heroin. Blame them!

Abbott certainly didn't do anyone any favours by opening his mouth. He is socially inept!

Rubbish, you mean he didn't bend over for a murderer? don't you.

You know the one, Watta Joko, the poor excuse for a human being who ran on a ticket of state sanctioned murder.

I am proud of the way the government has handled this very serious situation and Indonessia need to know that we will not sit idly by while they shoot defenceless prisoners, no country would or has.

Ever heard the saying "you catch more flies with honey than vingar"........ wish the PM had......lol

Proud of our government......hmmm........ how's that worked out?....oh.....they hate him!

The only hate I see is from posts like yours. Cheap political potshots when this is the most serious subject and heartbreaking situation. But never mind that, just take a few more cheap shots.

    Lol.

Really I think what we have here is two heads of Two very different Countries

looking out for the interests of their people

how can President Widodo show clemency to foreigners when he executes his own peole for drug trafficing

what is that saying to the people of Indonesia

Tony Abbott has become involved because of general concensus

Not opposition to the death of two drug smugglers

But opposition to the death penalty

At least Tony is trying an honest hands on approach to tackling some very serious issues confronting this country

and is even man enough to admits when he makes a mistake which is a rare event in politics

Boycotting Bali is not the answer to this Problem

Let's try BOYCOTTING DRUGS instead

Honey and dollars worked with a couple of drug carriers before.

Different people in charge in both countries.

(I do not intend to enter into a discussion)

Why post then.

If you are not going to discuss, stay out of it.
