Question For The Computer Savvies

Bought a little Netbook off Dodo for a good price (or so I thought at the time)

It has a cpl of problems:

A. battery is docked and locked but can still only use it if it's connected to the power source.

Says "100%  power but not charging."

B. on the QWERTY bar, the U, I, O, P Keys also double for 4,5,6, and asterisk in square brackets. Same goes for J, K, L on the next row.

Where I try to use the Alpha keys I always get the numerical. For instance, where I type Friday, it comes out as Fr5day.

Is there a toggle I should be using?

Icy, have you tried to google for a manual for your particular Notebook?

I have no idea how to help otherwise.

Erica

what os system is on it Icy? xp or windows 7 or what?

and I reckon you probably need a new battery

what brand?

can you take a pic of the entire keyboard

does it have a fn or num lock key?

try fn + F11

or fn + numlock if your keyboard has them

What brand is it? I presume it's not new.

The battery is had it. They don't last forever.

no it's new.

As in...2011 stock.

But not used.

So why not complain to Dodo?       Battery should be charging.

Useless if you have to be connected to power all the time

Those fn keys causing trouble again?

I C&Ped the question into google and it came with pendo...aka, cheap garbage. When it comes to electronics the saying, you get what you pay for, is true.

If it is newly purchased, and within any warranty period provided, then I would go back to where you purchased it from about the battery not holding a charge.

Some of the lower price netbooks from that time were pretty low quality to match the low price.
