Also a few ISP/RSP's have recently increased data allowances in their plans and kept the cost the same, in advance of Netflix being available in Australia.

We got 10GB's more anytime of day/night and 40GB more off peak (midnight -7am which isn't a lot of use here, unless you want to stay up all night watching movies!). 

There are SD And HD plans too.. so not too fast a connection go for Standard Definition?
