this cop reported shots fired and said he had taken his taser - then he went and picked up the taser and brought it back and dropped it by the guy he had just killed - there is no way they can ever hope to cover that up

Yes they thought he had a gun, the policeman was unfit to be a policeman, I do not think he has been charged with murder.
