That is not what your post said. It mentioned nothing about "conversations in real life".  That is why I was confused.

Also, many here construct their opinions and arguments very well and if others want to take offense then it is they who have the cognitive handicap,  not necessarily the initiator of the conversation.

Then you have the ones who delight in putting a different spin on a members post to antagonise and disrupt, not saying that your thread is like that and no offence intended either.

Thinly-veiled misogynistic posts, political agendas, religious fanatics, I could count them off just from memory - and that's not even factoring in the deliberate flamers!

Wonder if bob bothered to open this one and read

I agree kope, and I would hope that includes knowing the difference between "moot" and "mute", and using "who" and "whom" correctly..........Smiley LOL

And, as I have said a million times on these boards, hyperbole is a no-no...........

So...you're saying that for who the bell tolls, is largely mute?

Good thread!  And so true.

Daily, I see posters using terminology and wording, designed specifically to promote their own agendas, or deliberately inflame others -   (I admit to being a little guilty of it too, but only in response, and to call them out on their behaviour!).

There seems to be a growing number of posters who purposely antagonise others by 'flaming' - a well-known forum tactic.

You are very guilty of that.  Another meme. *eye roll*   Perhaps you would like to stop with the nasty memes.  I would appreciate that.  Especially the ones to Joanie nearly ever time she posts.

Aye, aye. I notice that a Brigadier general from the Grammar Police Force and the Spelling and other Misdemeanors Battalion has joined in as well. Oh happy day.

As  I stated in my post...I admit to being a little guilty of it too, but only in response, and to call them out on their behaviour!

If you can't see that, I can't help you.

But you'd still like me to cease and desist, 'cos it offends your sensibilities. Then where's my freedom of speech?

Well that's good then Curmu if you can see it.  Perhaps when you want to call someone out on their behaviour, you might want to do so in a more pleasant way.  Perhaps think about how you would feel.  Isn't that what this thread is all about?

deep-sigh-smiley-emoticon.gif      Ok, now that we all have that off our chest.

Lets make a small improvement today and try to remember curmu's pic -
