Unlike the OP, SBS does not have an anti-muslim agenda. Hopefully, the inquiry results will answer and relieve her of her concerns as well as educate others but I doubt it because there will always be those who would rather believe the shock jocks rather than the facts.

Not so odd, really, when you consider that the thread title only mentioned halal and point 9 in the OP stated: ." Halal is a part of sharia law and we DO NOT want any part of Sharia law in Australia.
Kosher is a part of Judaic Law specific to Jews, and if, as the OP is keen to point out, we are a predominantly Christian country, so do we want any aspect of Jewish law in Australia?

the difference is that Kosher certification is not on near all the products in our supermarkets.
There are two Kosher certifiers in Australia who clearly state what they charge for certification

@*mrgrizz* wrote:my work kills 4000 animals everyday HALAL every single one is stunned first.
i will repeat once again ritual slaughter is where the animal is not stunned first. and is extremely rare and highly monitored.
we sign no non disclosure documents with any certifiers
that is really good but not good enough
because there are still exemptions and
there are abattoirs in australia that have been
granted permission for religious slaughter.
The Federal Government is reviewing ritual slaughter standards but is not pre-empting the findings.
Halil Haliloff owns a farm north of Adelaide which is one of nine abattoirs in South Australia that is allowed to kill without stunning.
The Turkish-born Muslim has been running the small abattoir for sheep and goats for about seven years and has around 50 animals at any given time.
He says most of his customers would not buy the meat if it had been stunned.
“I kill them for the religion, if not do for the religion then my customer [would] run away,” he said.
He says many of his customers actually watch him slaughter the animals to ensure it is halal.
“[They] want to buy fresh meat, because shops keep it in a cool room. [Here it is] from ice, it’s halal.”
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils is the accreditation body for halal food.
It accepts the stunning of animals but president Ikebal Patel says exemptions are needed to accommodate for religious freedoms.
i disagree.
