I'm having a bit of trouble here Stalks, the black bean stuff  in the bottom of my saucepan is resisting all attempts to dislodge it.

Obviously I've tried soaking and steel wool, I then went for the steel brush on the Rotary Drill - fail...........

So what do you normally do next ?  Go immediately for the chisel or attempt to turn the black stuff into a self-igniting explosive ????

Serious answer for the burnt pot is bi-carb soda. 

Sprinkled dry overnight, then some water and boil it.  

Works for me.
