I suppose it will be a different answer for many.......... I would rather be here with my family than dead.

I have been giving a lot of thought to this lately, given my regular presence at the nursing home.

I was wondering.... are we doing the right thing keeping people with Alzhiemers and Dementia in the best of health with nutritious food, warm clothing, comfort etc? and I felt torn.

Yesterday I decided we are........

I went on a bus trip with about 10 of the residents, all the ones who aren't really "with us" most of the time......some slept all the way......but when we reached our destination, they all smiled and looked around, some walked through parkland, some just sat, however, the difference in them when we got back was amazing. Still smiling and some were reminiscing about who and what they had seen, for several hours.
