Well, well.  Hasn't this turned into an interesting thread.

You're not going to tell me you lived around that area too?

Not a chance.  But I did look up the church.  Is this it?  Cos it's lovely

I couldn't find any side doors either

Kingswood didn't have a high when we lived there.

What years were you at St Mary's high

Let's see: we arrived in 1961 - I just turned 12; I was in Toowoomba for 18 months then we moved down to Sydney; went to Fort Street Boys for 12 months; then we moved out to Kingswood - lived in the Caravan Park which is now a park while mum and dad's house was being built; went to St Marys then - I was in 2nd year High - so must have been 63 - 66. When I was in 3rd form it was the last year that did 3rd form exams - we had a choice of doing 3rd year or the new 4th year exams - can you remember when that was?

This info may help.

1963
Last Intermediate Certificate examination held under old system of secondary education. However, an 'Intermediate' examination was held until 1966 based on the third year of the Wyndham Scheme course.

1965
School Certificate examination first held, at end of 4-year secondary course; conducted by Secondary Schools Board (established 1961) and externally set and marked.

1966
Last Leaving Certificate examination (for those candidates repeating 5th Year in 1966).

1967
Higher School Certificate examination first held, conducted by Board of Senior School Studies (established 1961) and externally set and marked.

Oh wow hope you really don't feel that Rabbit.  I couldn't ever imagine that! It's 22 years for us this year. Through all the challenges and difficulties wouldn't change it for the world 🙂  Hope you had a lovely celebration.

I didn't go to St. Mary's I went to Penrith, however my friends from Colyton did.

I think I might be 1 year older than you, maybe not.

I was born in 1947

I started High school in 1960

I left Colyton early 1959 and went to Castlereagh

Two of my cousins were married in the same church as you. They were much older

This is fun, just as well I look after my instant recall brother. He s excellent with dates. He is my own personal Rainman.
