Maybe this is a question that you have to find an answer for, for yourself, one that sits well with you.
For instance, you could ask yourself what would happen to those people? If the only "blemish" upon them was the way they were born, that they lived being true to themselves, would God, as you understand Him, judge them harshly?
Seeing as this is a question that relates to Him, and you have a relationship with Him, have you thought of asking God about this?
Is that something that you'd do? Sorry, but this is where my ignorance shows through.
By now, you've pretty much worked out that I'm not a Christian, ha ha.

I had figured that out 😛
You're right, I should just spend time in prayer to give Him a chance to 'speak'; I guess I was just curious what others thought about the whole thing. Personally, right now, I can't shake off the feeling that God made man and women and He put them together for a reason - not two men, and not two women. But I'm open to changing my beliefs, if through prayer I find a different answer.

Look for the truth, both within and without.
I've been told that the nature of truth never changes, but the way we perceive it can. I'll agree with that. The truth, as I was sure I knew it, when I was younger doesn't look the same, now. Maybe it's me getting soppy as old age approaches, ha ha.
