But in response to Debra's comment that she thought Judgement Day was more about the type of person you are.you,  said

it has everything to do with

what the particular religion teaches

to be a sin and everyone will be

judged accordingly.

What did you mean by that iif not that you will be judged according to how you have kept the rules of your own particular religion?

you got it right.

that was what i meant.

So if my religion commands me to kill infidels and I front up for Judgement Day without ever having killed one, will God punish me?

Not the same god

Allah and God are not the one god

Who knows the answer

To that thou g htful question

So maybe Terry Pratchett was right all along and there really  is a different God (or gods) for every religion. I can imagine Judgement Day and  St Peter  be directing traffic "Christian? first God on the right Hindu? second on the left.' Muslim? Take the lift to the next floor and you'll find Allah at the end of the corridor."

Ha ha your a barrel of

Laughs

I do my best. Smiley LOL

But if, as Icy suggests,  everyone is going to be judged according to the rules of whichever  particular religion they follow, then the surest way to salvation is obviously to be an atheist.

Your an enigma!

"yep, it has everything to do with what the particular religion teaches to be a sin and everyone will be judged accordingly".

I suppose I could find grounds for concern in that, after all, I will be the one who weighs my heart against a feather.

Ultimately, I will be the judge of whether, or to what degree, I have offended against my conscience, in this life.

The guide, then, to life is whether or not I can live with myself, and the things I have done. Or left undone.

It is my responsibility to make good as necessary, to atone when necessary, to set things, as well as I can, in balance.

If I die with a smile in my heart, then I have lived a good life.

As for what lies beyond, that is the realm of my Ancestors, and it does not trouble my thoughts for I am not yet there.

Smiley Happy

Well ultimately you must be

True to yourself

As you say

Be righteous fair and look

Forward not back

Don't do things that you are

Sorry for

Be kind to animals

How unfortunate that others take to this thread in order to try to prove a point, instead of trying to learn from one another.

and what are you learning from it?

Are you seeing others points of view yet?

Yes, I see their point of view. Perhaps I am learning that they are a little too quick to shove statistics and 'evidence' down other people's throats 😛
