Few things remain unchanged over time...

An $11000 fine, that's Eleven Thousand Dollars, for people who leave Victorian Coronavirus "hotspots" and are caught in NSW.

How can the powers that be even think that such a thing is necessary?

It's a silly question, I know...

I was inspired by the picture, so I rigged a water bottle up for the birds...

Maybe I should have left a copy of the picture with it, as a sort of "How To" guide... ha ha...

The poor bird... it gave me one of those "Oh, no... Not Again.. He's had another one of those bright ideas..." looks, ha ha...

I ended up showing the bird how it works by tapping the end of the spout to make the water come out...

"Oh... Right... I see... Now..." said the bird, ha ha... "I think I'll stick to the bird bath, thanks"...

As ideas go, it didn't entirely fall flat, but I don't think it'll become one of their favourite watering spots, ha ha...

One of the goldfish died a few days ago.

It's not entirely unexpected... a pet fish that costs something of the order of $2 isn't going to last more than maybe four, or at a pinch, five years, and even then it'd be doing well... ha ha...

So yes, the other fish in the tank has been slowly getting used to being an "only fish"...

Up until the last couple of days, that is, when the monotony finally set in...

For the last day and half, or so, I've been treated to the spectacle of a bored, lonely goldfish, swimming laps up and down one side of the tank... ha ha...

I relented, today, and went and bought a new fish... just a little one...

So this evening, while I was making a cuppa, I watched  the big fish doing laps on one side of the tank, and the little fish following suit, on the other side of the tank... "But it's what the big fish is doing..."... ha ha...

I'm sure they'll settle into a more comfortable routine once the big fish discovers just how much fun can be had chasing the little fish around, ha ha...
