A half hearted, flat "Wah!" comes from outside...

I know what he's doing... He's trying to lure me out let me know he's here, ha ha.

I go out and the first "Wah!" is loud, and excited.

But not to be outdone by the second, louder, "Waah!-Waaah!".

Well, I guess it's pretty clear for everybody that I'm there, ha ha.

The poor old shy, broken footed bird...

Standing on that perch on the side of the pergola, eating bread out of the bowl I'm holding.

Did I say eating?

Sorry, I meant pulling out the bits he doesn't like the look of, and dropping them on the ground, while nibbling at the bits he thinks are suitable, and then dropping them on the ground, ha ha.

Somebody's not shy, not when it comes to food, ha ha.

Monorail cockatoo - one of the birds has found that the easiest way to get down a ramp set at pretty much 45 degrees is to grip the sides of it and let gravity take its course, ha ha.

The old bird's standing on the pergola.

He reached forward and grabbed the ramp in front of him with his beak.

Then there was an awkward pause as the realisation set in that he was stuck...

Beak at this end...

Good foot at that end...

Open space beneath...

I'm stuck...

Would you, bird, like me to go and get the gloves, so I can assist you... knowing that you will show your eternal gratitude for my kind gesture by screaming, flailing, scratching and biting...?

No, said the bird... Leave the gloves...  I think you need to go and make a cup of tea... that way I can extricate myself from these circumstances with far less embarrassment than I would feel if you were here...

I went and noisily went about making a cuppa, and when I "happened" to look outside, again, he was sitting on the bridge with that air of "business as usual", ha ha.

We'll never speak of this again,  ha ha.
