Having an absolute ball here. Yesterday I rode an elephant, saw a volcano, relaxed in a hot spring pool, visited a coffee plantation and drank poo poo coffee. (It's a Bali speciality and apparently featured in "The Bucket List" - There are small animals called lobouks (?) running around the plantation, they eat the coffee beans, the workers gather. their poo, extract the beans, wash them, peel them and roast them. It makes a really strong and tasty coffee - partly I'm told because the lobouks are fussy eaters and only eat he best beans. We ended the night with a suckling pig feast at a restaurant on the beach owned by DD,s Balinese friend, Siki.
I'm not very good on the iPad so I'll post photos once I'm back home with my laptop

Nice one she el. I suppose they told you the elephants were either rescued or for conservation, which is bs.

Two of my close friends spend months each year in Thailand and Bali careing for these traumatised animals used for the tourist trade, for rides like yours. .

I find it appalling that nobody here seems to know about the elephants being used for the tourist trade in places like Bali, and the incredibly cruel methods for 'training' them, especially with the crushing method.

Maybe if you google ..........elephants used in the tourist trade Bali......... you will be as sickened as me.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel......

There is currently a huge campaign taking place now to ban the use of elephants in the tourist trade.

Some tourist agencies have come on board and are supporting the campaign.

These animals are NOT trained.....they are traumatised with the fear of punishment.
