I seem to be the odd one out here.....I love tripe but have not seen it since our local butcher closed down a few years ago.

Love ox kidney too......we have kidney and steak rather than steak and kidney here.

Hi Lyndal ..on my way back to bed;  just had to have a cup of hot chocolate and then drop into my study for a minute or two .. had an enormous thunderstorm come through earlier on, all gone now.

Never quite did taste tripe, it was the name and the look of it that I couldn't get my head around.

I'm now "doing" the washing.  (lift lid, deposit clothes, powder dose, close lid, push button)

Bit different to Nana's day.  Light the kindling under the copper (all pre-laid by pa the night before), shave some Sunlight, boil, rinse-wring-rinse/bluo-wring, hang out, take a bucket of the hot water, go and wash floors.  Use left over washing waters to water pot plants, or let drain near the arum lillies on the shady side or divert to the Cannas on the sunny side of the outdoor laundry.

I've now finished the washing. Whew that was exhausting.   Exercise now...bend (pick up clothes).....and stretch (peg them up)......soon - just got to finish the kawphy.
