In a previous life I used to build simple robots...
I'm amazed that it still goes, considering it's made mostly from recycled coat hangers. 
The one in the video is one of the early models, and the only survivor (I need a part, I'l just take it from this one and later on I'll get back to it and fix it. Promise... - things that Never happened. ). The earliest model had one motor and waddled around like a drunken hermit crab. A later version had six motors, three at each end, which covered a fair range of movement, and could climb stairs. Up, but not down. Gravity proved to be too great a challenge and the poor robot self-disassembled.
It's great what you can learn from the internet.
