I decided, once and for all to find what's blocking the downpipe, from the gutters. I cut a hole in the downpipe so I could put the inspection camera in, and..... Nothing.
Clean as a whistle.
Of course now I have to climb up to roof level and repeat the whole camera thing.
Suddenly I think it's far too hot this afternoon... ![]()
It's a brilliant little "toy", I got it at Aldi. It's a video screen with a long snaking, bendable arm with a camera and a light, at the end.
Perfect for finding things in awkward places - things such as remote controls, under couches. ![]()

Just like that much loved old Christmas tree, I think it's time to drag out and dust off one of those "timely reminders" that accompany the silly season...

Overflowing gutters here too, yesterday. Washed the windows and screens ![]()
I fear that a couple of traveller's palms have grown so much belowground, they have crushed the drainage pipe to the sewer(?). The rainwater must have banked back to the guttering.
MacGyver, has a new puzzle-solving "toy".

Storm water is a different drain to sewerage.
You're in trouble if your stormwater has been
linked to the sewer

You'll know in deep "something" if the pipes are linked and there's a flood...
(Eeew! not very smiley face).

Thump...pause...thump, thump, thump...
That sounds familiar. Sort of like aluminium frame hitting aluminium frame...
I wonder what the birds have found to amuse themselves, this time...
Thump... thump... thump, pause, thump...
"Get away from the screen door!".
Somebody, it seems, knows how to open swing doors, but doesn't understand that pushing against a sliding door doesn't work.
How am I going to McGyverise my way round this....?

Attach a finger of wood protruding to the lower opening edge. And show him how to push/nudge the door along the track? Need good rollers though.
Don't get splinters in your knees when you show him to do it ![]()
