Got in, this afternoon, opened the back door and..... No doormat.
While I was out, the birds decided to have some fun. Thankfully, they didn't take it very far.
This is not the first time they've "borrowed" things.
Mission accomplished. We have the bowl... ![]()

My little girl possum has worked out that "the path" goes roof - tree - table where the food is.
So she sits in the tree, a palm tree with long fronds, and waits for unsuspecting passers-by to pass by.
I suppose I shouldn't laugh, but it is funny to hear someone run along the roof, in the direction of the tree, then hear the explosive rustling of fronds, followed by a heavy thud, back on the roof, and the thunder of retreating feet.
She has a wicked sense of humour.
I have a foam square floor mat, the kind that interlocks like a jigsaw puzzle, and the intention of posting it, which will mean wrapping it, securely , in some way.
It measures (and where do they think up these measurements?), 116cm a side. Hmm. I'm going to have to make my own cardboard box for this one...
No worries, I've got enough cardboard, I know how to draw a plan for a box, all I need is packing tape.
Off to Bunnings I go...
I grabbed a couple of rolls, popped them on the counter and said to the girl at the checkout "These are for December 26th". She asked "What's December 26th?" I said "It's Boxing Day, and I'll need packing tape".
I swear I could have stripped and reassembled a lawnmower in the time it took her to process that. "Oh!" she says, suddenly. "I'm sorry, I'm a bit slow today, I almost didn't get that".
I am going to have to take my jokes elsewhere. ![]()
