OK just heard 41 houses destroyed, but the fire now contained and moving slowly east away from residential areas. Winds should stop by midday, but residents would probably not be allowed back to check their houses until much later today....

OMG Hawk,

Thank goodness when you said have a laugh, I didn't have my tea near me...

That was so funny and what a great mate to take such memorable photos...lol

I also loved your typo.. classic!

To answer your question, we are planning on heading South and going around the bight.
And yes, the wind generators can be very noisy, ours is meant to be a quieter version but when the wind is strong, it howls.

.

hello waussies 😄

really hoping there is no bad news re the fires. Scary enough just seeing lots of smoke let alone being evacuated !

Muggsy I hope your home and family/friends homes are okay, very glad you have lis to go to.

Afternoon waussies

tende60 we are still laughing about the week end and I think we will for some time to come.

Shame so many houses were lost, hope Mugssy is OK after what she has just been through after the last fire

Morning all (just)
OMG 41 houses gone! I do hope, Mugssy's wasn't one of them, though Lis did say she thought theirs would be OK.
I went and played table tennis this morning for the first time since Christmas. I played much better than I expected but, oh my goodness am I knackered now! It's quie embarrassing how out of condition I am.
PMSL over those photos Hawk. It does look as if you had great fun though.

Hi all.

We are sure that Mums house is fine, the scarey thing is, the fire didnt race down a street claiming houses as it went, there are streets that lost only one house, others that lost 5 or 6, it was so random, thats what happens with embers blowing in the winds. My Mr5 has at least 2 little friends who have lost their homes. My Aunts home, however, seems to have not been as extensively damaged as first reported, even though a few of her neighbours lost theirs.

Noone is allowed back into the area for at least another day, some possible 3 or so days, it is still very dangerous up there, wooden powerpoles are falling, trees and still the wind stirs up burning embers.

Thanks for the update Lis. Fingers crossed and big hugs for all of you.
I see theyve updated the list to 59 houses severely damaged. It seems incredible so many could go in what is a fairly built up area. As you say - blwing embers.

Thanks Lis

Just so sad and the not knowing
