Thanks for the update Lis. Fingers crossed and big hugs for all of you.
I see theyve updated the list to 59 houses severely damaged. It seems incredible so many could go in what is a fairly built up area. As you say - blwing embers.
Yeah I know she-ele.
One of the girls at work and I were talking, and I was saying...Oh I'm not attached to that much, I'd take the old (grandparents) family photos, early pics of the kids...the rest is on somputer.
Then I thought about the ring I rarely wear which belonged to L's Great aunt..an engagement ring...but he was killed in WW1...my mothers engagement ring which I also rarely wear....
Then I thought about my beloved table....French circa 1860, I bought this house because it had a room it would fit (it's about 2.8 mts long) and how my kids did their homework on it, and (little b's carve their initials on it)....
and the list grew...my mothers china, a large amount of restored furniture which is irreplaceable......
and I thought about my garden, and how I had nurtured so many plants that were finally looking great
and I realised, yes, if I got out, my family got out and my dog got out, that would be all I could ask for...
but the loss would still be huge:(
So very sad for the people who have lost so much.....

Clifton Hills residents have been allowed to return home, my aunts house suffered some damage, not sure how much yet, but forst reports were that it was destroyed, most of the houses around hers are, Mums house, and my granparents house are dirty and smelly from the smoke, but essentially still fine.

And yes, what an absolute miracle that there were no deaths. Beside that everything else pales into - well perhaps not insignificence - but certainly minor importance.

Lis thanks for letting us know, so glad Mugs and your grandparents houses are essentially fine..
Sorry about your Aunt's though.
I have pretty much done nothing today, day off and another day off tomorrow (I love Tuesday and Wednesday, it's my weekend)
Pottered about, did some reading, dressed up Skipper in knickers which didn't work too well,
OH will come home and say.. what have you done today... pretty fair to say I'll answer, sweet FA dear..:^O
Have a good afternoon/evening.
