Stawka, I was called for jury duty a few years ago. Went to the Court House, sat there half a day and then was told that they did not need anymore peole.

They called by alphabetical order. I was lucky. My family name started with T then. By the time they reached R, they had enough jurors for the day.

Erica, that may be all well and good for country folk, but I'm in Melbourne.

The last time I went, I sat in a room with about 200 others for 4 days

before I was told I wasn't needed.

I'm thinking of deferring- telling them I'm unavailable for that period of time

(some of it in the middle, I am)   Three months is a long time to keep available

Maybe they will forget about me

Got a medical certificate from the doc.....excused FOREVER from jury service.
