When Matt's egg split open, it reminded me of a scene in the movie Apollo 13. After the explosion and reality hit, Tom Hanks said "gentlemen, we've just lost the moon". When Matt's egg split open I thought "Matt, you've just lost the prize".

It was a good show tonight. They were so close in their skills, it was really anyone's night. I thought it was lovely near the end of the dessert how Elena went and helped Matt. She'd also previously given him her chocolate spray when his wouldn't work. It shows that strong bonds are really formed between all the contesants.

I don't watch any of the other cooking shows, but the ads indicate to me that on the other shows they just want to gouge everyone else's eyes out. Right the way through this series they were all so supportive of each other and genuinely happy for someone when they won something or just had a really good cook. There was no b1tchiness. None that was broadcast anyway.
