It's been raining round here a bit in recent times, and the ground's become waterlogged in places.

I have to keep an eye out, walking in the garden, that I don't take a step, sink half an inch, and have my boot stay put as I go to take the next step.

Couple of days back, I come round the corner, take a step and my foot had that sort of heavy, stuck feeling.

My first thought was the boot was stuck.

I was right, but not the way I thought.

I looked down, and there's a cockatoo latched on to my boot, beak, claws, everything...

I wasn't going anywhere until I paid him attention, ha ha, cheeky little man.

The outdoor tables are a simple enough affair; four legs, a rectangular frame at the top for the table itself, and about half way down the legs there's horizontal cross rails, to make it a bit sturdier.

Okay, no, it seems I'm wrong.

The cross rails aren't there to bolster the frame, they're there for the sparrows to sit out the rain in relative comfort, ha ha.

Takeaway came down to the table fairly early, last night.

She could see me through the window so she sat up to full height, quite deliberately facing the window.

"Look at me, I've got a baby, I know you're going to fuss over me even more than usual. Right now you're kicking yourself that you didn't keep a list of all the special treats you gave me last time I was like this, aren't you?".

She love to tease me, ha ha.

If the rain's kind and does back off by the evening...

Oh, who am I kidding? she'll get treats no matter what the weather, ha ha.

The Great possum naming committee have spoken.

At least it's a name that I have a reasonable chance of not forgetting, ha  ha.

When I was a youngster I used to have a morbid fear of high end designer clothes and accessories; stuff like handbags and chunky wrist watches, fashion models and "the beautiful people", especially TV or movie stars.

My parents were quite concerned and took me to see a doctor about it.

As the consultation was drawing to a close he called them into his office and they asked if it was a serious condition.

"No, not at all", he said, "It's his glamour phobia".
