It was a sunny, warm enough day and I felt like getting out so I went down to Bunnings with the excuse that I wanted to look at Chinese pistachio trees.
I found them in the far corner of the garden centre, there were half a dozen or so to choose from.
I thought I'd give myself a few minutes thinking time, so I went inside, hunting down other things before I came back and had a more serious look at them.
Having found what I wanted, inside, I came back out and there was an older couple filling the entire aisle with their selections, and their trolley, discussing the relative merits of at least two trees.
Buying trees is a big decision, not to be taken lightly, ha ha.
I've been to garden centres with my parents, and I've learnt that the best thing to do in these circumstances is go for a walk around the garden centre, and leave them to it, ha ha.
So I wandered off to browse the plants and ended up looking at terracotta/ceramic bird baths and some really startlingly unattractive terracotta pots.
Next to them are the garden ornaments, the little statues, and the like.
And this is where the story takes a bit of a turn...
I blew my Chinese pistachio budget...
On...
Meet the latest addition to my menagerie, ha ha.
I couldn't resist.
It's so awful, kitsch, but at the same time cute, as garden ornaments all too often tend to be, ha ha.
I could've got a tree, I ended up with a plastic possum.
Every excursion to Bunnings, with me, has the potential to be a new and exciting adventure, ha ha.
