I've had dentures for the past few years, I had to get them younger,  and I've never looked back.  They are made so attractively and look better than my own teeth did.   Very comfortable, don't know they are in.  The other day I was searching for the lower one and after half an hour realied it was in !   (Probably says more about me than the denture  )    I can eat anything but yes, do find an apple a bit hard.  No more fillings, extractions, root canals,   bliss. 

Thanks everyone for your info..it will be a full upper denture..implants I thought about but due to a health issue regarding the condition of my jaw bone a denture is the way to go..sick of loose teeth & having to have them cemented back in..I don`t remember biting on anything with my front teeth for years(no rude comments either!!lol)

I hope this is not going to sound rude, but if you have a health care/pension card of some kind you can go through Community Dental Health Centre.

Ask Centrelink (or even your GP) for the CDHC that is in your district. It is a longer process, a ew back and forward trips, fittings, moulding, impressions etc, but it is free.

My friend (Health Care Pension) did it that way and then once she had the dentures and they had settled she went to a dental technician for the adjustments as the y are a lot quicker and often able to be done on the spot.

You do have to part pay for them if you use the health care/pension card,(it's about $135).

My OH had hers done here recently,(country Victoria).

It may be different in the major cities as they are generally done via the training establishments.

I qualify now for treatment at a Melbourne Community Dental Centre.....   it is very impressive with fully qualified staff and state of the art equipment.   I pay $20 a visit for whatever is done,   and from what I remember I don't think I paid for my dentures , though about 6 years ago.
