RIP Ray, I always thought he had a similiar style and voice to Gerry Marsden.

we (the children of the 60's) are now reaching an age where so many of our heroes of our youth are reaching the age of natural demise.
i expect many many of our favorite artists will take their final bow and leave the stage.
luckily for us we have the cd's and youtube. our parents didnt have the luxury of listening to or watching their heroes any time they wanted to.

Now THAT, Ray Columbus dying, makes me feel old. I remember C'mon with the now deceased Peter Sinclair - the Chicks, Mr. Lee Grant, Allison Durbin and Ray Columbus.
When I look back on it, I don't know if he was even that good. But just part of the whole growing up in New Zealand thing.
Thnak goodness we still have Dave Dobbyn. I remember being at work at Databank in Auckland, the day that Dave Dobbyn (supposedly) ignited a riot.
Commiserations to all ancient NZ'ers, like me.
