If people decide 'hey, lets go down to Coogee, take wine/ beer/ chips/ sandwiches etc and have a picnic/ party whatever, there's going to be heaps of people and music..we can all have a good time' what makes them think they are not responsible for the empty bottles, and wrapper from their party? They can bring the **bleep** with them- why can't they carry the empty **bleep** home?

Because Council doesn't provide enough bins for them? Assuming they would even use the bins is wishful thinking.

It's not a lack of bins- it's a lack of intelligence, and an ignorant attitude that someone else will pick up after them.

You could be right, but I think a bigger part of it is they can do it and get away with it. There wouldn't be a person there who hasn't heard about putting rubbish in bins, the meanest intelligence can grasp that, it is the fact that they can litter & get away with it.

It is no use expecting people to take it home, not from that sort of event. In some picnic parks the idea may fly. But not at a big event. Just not going to happen. Why? Because half of them may not have come in by car. Or if there are thousands there, they may not be parked anywhere near their car. They are not going to carry rubbish around with them.

A few skips in the area would go some way towards helping, but unless people have consequences for bad behaviour, they will often just keep on doing it. Especially when they see others doing it.

Yes, I know I am cynical.
