Wet, yesterday, then cold and wet, today.

There's no need to remind me why I built the "bird perch" down the end of the pergola...

There's a very grumpy looking old man cockatoo siting there, head hunched down, tucked just under one wing.

It's not exactly the height of comfort, but at least he's out of the rain, ha ha.

As soon as the rain had cleared he took off - there's important cockatoo business to be taken care of, out there in the world - he has to get things done before it drops down to zero, overnight (two nights in a row, what a place, ha ha).

I figure he'll be'll be back in the evening.

He knows when the food goes out, and when there aren't too many other birds to get in his way, ha ha.

It looks like little Piano has been coming in on her own, at least the last three nights.

I've seen a little grey furry shape, partially obscured by the shadows, with a long, thin, kitten-like black tail resting on the table.

I think she's enjoying her independence.

I expect her Mum's probably enjoying her independence, too - it's great being a mum, but after a while having to share everything you eat, and every flat surface you sit on, wears a bit thin, ha ha.

There was a big boy possum, a Big boy who dropped by.

I mentally ran through the list of possums I know who could be that size...

Um, no, can't think of anyone... ha ha.

There must be some kind of possum grapevine through which word of the table gets out.

I figure I must see at least one possum that I don't know, passing through, about once a week.

I've been out the front, at night, where I can get a full view of the roof, and there's definitely no big neon sign saying "Get eats here", ha ha.

They just know, ha ha.
