This looks like rust marks on the rocks...............but it is lichen.
The picture was taken at the Bay of Fires.
People think that the area was named after these rust coloured marks on the rocks.
But that isn't correct.
It was named Bay fo Fires because when it was first discovered they could see all the fires from the aboriginal camp.
