The bird gets my attention by gently tugging on the leg of my tracky pants...
He's standing right next to me, and begins pawing at the ground - raise the foot slightly, take a loose clawful of seed husks, close it about a third, lift it slightly, then release the husks, and start again.
He's saying, in as many words "You've got the nice food... I want it...".
I don't know what's funnier - him assuming that by saying "I'd like the food", in that way, I'll understand, or me understanding what he's saying... ha ha.

Ecar, you're lucky it's just a bird pulling on the tracky daks.
Try having this bloke's job

That bloke with the little panda's got his work cut out for him, ha ha.
A kilo of cockatoo who doesn't know that tracky pants elastic can be, um, elastic...
Well, one time he tugged a bit hard on the leg, and the next thing he knew there was a lot more tracky pants in front of him than he'd expected, and an unexpected quick lesson in comparative anatomy, ha ha.
He's been careful since then, ha ha.
All jokes aside I have thought about getting a flexible thermometer strip to put on the side of the mug.
That way I can tell when I've left it for too long and the tea's a writeoff, ha ha.
