Waves hello back to latina. 🙂

🙂

One of the old man birds left a gift - a wing feather.

I wonder, seeing as they find it hard enough to fly as it is, is giving a wing feather away such a good idea?

Perhaps it's their way of saying that soon they will be in a place where they don't need to fly...

No, no... Not like that, ha ha.

It's their way of saying they're going to move into the back yard, and use the bridges to get everywhere, ha ha.

Good morning all xx

Lots of frost and ice around here at the moment;   I love it, reminds me of home!  Might be some snow in the highlands shortly.

I can see feathers flying ...  Woman LOL

Not using the iMac yet, still using this dinosaur until after the weekend, then we'll bring Mac into my study and away we'll go .. yay!!

Hope everyone is keeping warm and cosy for the winter?

It was minus 4 this morning.

The prediction is for minus 4 tomorrow, then minus 6 and then minus 6 again...

Then a balmy minus 2, but it's going to rain, ha ha.

If it's not frozen birds, then it's wet birds, ha ha.

I held the bowl out for the bird...

It looked in the bowl...

Pushes bread aside with beak... Pushes bread aside with beak...

So I put the bowl down on the bench, beside the bird...

"Bird, I'll tell you what, here's the bowl, You decide what you want...".

The bird grabbed the bowl and threw it on the ground...

"Fine, okay, your choice...", I said, and I picked up the bowl and went back inside...

I turned around in the doorway and there's the bird, having hopped off the bench, on the ground, picking through the bread, ha ha.

"I don't wanna eat my vegetables!" until you're not looking, because I'm hungry... ha ha.

"Hello baby bird, would you like some food from the box?".

He's not actually a baby - he's fairly independent, and is capable of feeding himself, but sometimes his parents relent, still, and feed him, ha ha.

We went through the necessary sign language and established that No, he didn't want seed.

He wanted fingers.

Well, not exactly... ha ha.

Fingers hold / give bread, therefore, ask the fingers for bread...

He tugged on my sleeve a couple of times, too, it's a "feed me" gesture.

So I mock grumbled at him - "Ask the world of me...", ha ha, and went and got him some bread.

He was waiting for me on the small table, not too far from the back door when I stepped out, and I showed him the bread.

So he flew over...

Realising, probably about half way across, that there was nowhere to land...

Which is where my arm came in very handy, ha ha.

He teetered, awkwardly, at first, then leant forward and tugged on the cuff of the jacket - once again, feed me... ha ha.

So I gave him a piece of bread...

Clutching his prize in his beak, he turned 180 degrees, sized up some likely landing spots and flew off.

I know I may have, metaphorically speaking, created a monster - he may decide that it's acceptable to land on me.

Without notice.

And expect to be fed...

And with no spoken or sign word for "Hop off, I'll just go inside and get you some (insert desired foodstuff here)", it's going to be interesting... ha ha.

But we will come to that, ha ha.
