Rain, rain, you're a pain... ha ha.

A mate's got a set of Christmas lights, outdoor ones, the old fashioned heavy black cable and real lightbulb ones.

A memory from my childhood, he calls them.

Him and his nostalgia, ha ha.

It's a three handed job to move them, let alone put them up.

And outside, in the rain is not my preferred working environment, ha ha.

The weather radar's looking relatively benign this afternoon, and as I expected, the phone call came...

"You don't know where I can get some coloured light bulbs, do you?".

It seems, and this is totally out of character for  him, that he plugged the lights in while they were sitting on the ground, to see which ones were working...

Usually it's a matter of get the lights in place, get them secured, then plug them in and find out how many aren't working, ha ha.

I'll put this down to being a Christmas miracle, ha ha.

In a day or two, when he's got the lights working, I expect he'll call me to whinge about the weather, and how it's impeding his plans to decorate... ha ha.

So much fuss, so much bother, so much fun, ha ha.

I got around to selling the vacuum cleaner, last week.

It was only sitting in the corner and gathering dust.

Ha ha.
