And apparently the moon will be the closest super moon Mon 29th Jan when it rises.

Look at the moon as it comes up over the horizon and look at it when it is up.

It looks a lot bigger as it rises than when it has risen, but it is the same size. Smiley Wink

Before Christmas, we bought a 10" Newtonian Dobsonian mount astro-telescope and there hasn't been much to see in the way of planets yet, but we did see Saturn and it was amazing, saw some of the moons too.

We'll certainly be out and about tomorrow night!

And with all the luck, the sky will be covered in black clouds.

That's what happened last time.

"And with all the luck, the sky will be covered in black clouds"

Noooooooooooo!!!!!

You might be right though Lind, there is a cool change and rain on the way so it's more than likely it will not be clear skies .... but all fingers crossed ...  Smiley Very Happy

A source told me it is closest 29th and the eclipse is 31st.

But now I can't find anything except the 31st so maybe my source was mistaken.

Thanks for the link Stawka.  I don't think we are going to get much of a view from here.  Here's the radar from a few minutes ago:

Amber, it's not happening until the 31st.

Maybe, hopefully, it will clear before then.
