This morning I put in a perch for the old man bird near the small table under the pergola - something to make his life a bit easier... ha ha.
Not that he got around to testing it, mind...
He was far too busy with the other two old man birds, having fun...
As the day faded, they made their way, as a group, and a comical sight it was, onto the highest bridge...
It's an elevated spot, which makes jumping off and flying away easier...
Good thinking, gentlemen... ha ha.
I'm quietly waiting for one of the birds to suggest that I could build a thereabouts 40 foot tall arch...
Materials to hand, aside, there's nothing to it... ha ha.
It's an arch, with very, very long legs holding it up... ha ha.
The difficulty, and there has to be one, ha ha, is getting the placement of the cross bars right - they have to be at the right angle, and distance apart, so that a cockatoo can climb them...
Exacting and demanding? Them? ha ha.
Thereabouts 40 foot... As in "Make it that big, set it up, prop it up and we'll tell you if it's tall enough or not"... ha ha.
And if the arch isn't tall enough, the garden becomes a makeshift workshop... ha ha.
But so far no one's said anything, so I won't be rushing off to Bunnings just yet... ha ha.
