We do not have the same seasonal colour changes here and I do miss those from up in the mountains.  I had the most beautiful Japanese maples outside the bedroom window there and the colours were spectacular.  There are compensations though 

We totally forgot that this weekend is a long weekend here in the wonderful west.  The warning signs on the roads about double demerit points alerted me as I was doing a hospital pick up of a friend and driving him home!  He had forgotten about it too ........ that is the retirement lifestyle for you
