I'm pretty sure that it got down to minus four, overnight.
What I'm certainly more sure of is that the bird bath froze over.
What I am certainly sure of, because I watched it happen, is that the very clever wattlebird worked out that if he perched on the side of the birdbath and gave the ice a slight nudge, some water from underneath the ice would displace and he could get a drink.
Did I say very clever? I think I said that... ha ha.
Of course the next thing to do is to teach him to make me a decent cup of tea and then I've got it made, ha ha.
I think teaching him to make scrambled eggs might be a little too much to ask... "Are these what I think they are?", ha ha.
