Ah, memories.
Chocolate cake was a firm favourite in my family. Most of the time I avoided the kitchen like the plague until my accute sense of smell told me that Mum was mixing a chocolate cake.
I hung round being "helpful" until I was given the beaters to lick then disappeared again until the next time Mum made chocolate cake.
And she always turned them off and removed them from the mixer.
I'd give anything for a nice piece of chocolate cake right now! ....... 
You can have the chocolate cake...
I'll stick with the pastries... ha ha.
