The trick is to curve your wings like this - they act like brakes, but you've still got a lot of maneuverability...
Sweep in, majestically, out of the sky with your landing point in the tree already lined up...
Do you remember what I said about manoeuvrability?
You're going to use it in a moment as you flick very slightly to one side and and startle a currawong as you land on the same branch as it... Mwah ha ha ha!

I noticed, out of the corner of my eye, a cockatoo sitting next to my foot...
As I looked down it said "Foot... On... Foot..."...
I groaned, slightly, feeling that sensation of dread - somebody literally got underfoot...
On closer examination, it was right...
It was resting it's foot on my foot... ha ha.
That quickly dissipated the feeling of dread that I've stepped on one of the birds...
There's always got to be one who's a comedian, ha ha.
