i just saw where there is a match played for 3rd and 4th places, why?

what team would want to play for 3rd or 4th?

seems silly to me.

cant they just figure out who scored the most and give 3rd to them?

It's always done in team sports. So the bronze medal can be decided.

Olympics, Championships, Cwlth games, World Cup, Euro Cup.

they made such a big thing of it being 'their year' to win, then the getting knocked off at the last hurdle?

to me it just feels like players would say 'i dont want a medal saying i'm third best.'

i dont see it like the olympics.

i'm not into round ball football so i dont know.

but i couldnt imagine a playoff for 3rd in the AFL.

Even though Croatia played some good football, especially in the first half, the experinced French team lifted a gear in the secong half.

Well that's it for another 4 years.

Of course we have the Euro cup in 2 years and I'm hoping Denmark will have a better result.
