The man at the Bureau said there's a goodly chance there might be some rain in the afternoon...

He was right, there was... some... ha ha.

More than a sprinkle, less than enough to raise the dust...

But it was enough for someone...

Someone small, black and vivid blue...

Mister wren found himself inspired by the rain...

I watched as he hopped around the bird bath, up onto the rails beside it, then back down again...

A dozen circuits of the bird bath later... ha ha....

Being a small bird he didn't make much of an impression when he landed, having launched himself enthusiastically towards the centre of the bath...

He splashed around - "I'm having a bath and I'm enjoying it!", ha ha, then hopped out and left it to the sparrows...

In the space of not much more than a month, I'd say, he's gone from boldly standing on the fence and twittering at me to cementing his claim on the garden, and all that lies within, ha ha.

We "borrowed" a little from Elizabeth 1, at this point, ha ha - I know I have the body of small bird, but I have the heart of a King, and of a King of this garden, too...

I love it when they don't think these things through... ha ha.
