The weather man says there could be snow down to 800m, here, this weekend.

That's not much good to me... The highest of the peaks round here would be about 600m...

How am I expected to take snow photos if it's that high off the ground?

I'll have to get  the step ladder out, ha ha.

I suppose I'll have to cook up some two minute oats for the birds - nice hot food for them... ha ha...

But I don't know where I'll find the time to set up the bain marie for the possums' dinner... ha ha.

I tried making little shelters for the birds, outside, one year...

I had a few spare space blankets - that sort of silver foil plastic material...

One of the birds looked them over and said "That's meant to be a teepee?... And that's meant be a wigwam?... I don't know... I mean, they look good, but maybe it's the sort of rattly material... I don't think I'll use them... Nah... I mean, I feel a bit agitated by them, you know... Nervous... I look at them and I think Nah... I feel, like.. Too tense...".

Then he ran away, chuckling...

It took me a couple of minutes to catch on.... Too tense - Two tents... ha ha.

The surest indicator of a drop in temperature is a middle ear infection... ha ha.

The wind picked up, the temperature dropped, and the ear started to hurt so I pulled the hood on the jacket up, over the beanie...

I don't care how I look, I'm warm...

I'm sitting outside, in the cold, with a bunch of cockatoos who are giggling at me because they think I look funny, but I don't care, I'm warm... ha ha.

The ear's coming along quite well...

Fingers crossed I'll be right in no time, ha ha.

I don't know if the designers of the hand warmer I've got thought of it or not, but it's more than just pocket sized, it's ear sized - perfect for slipping inside the beanie, and it makes a difference, too, ha ha.

That is the modern version of the old wives remedy that my mother used when I was a kid.....a teaspoon of warmed olive oil poured into the ear.  It worked a treat and was cheap and easy but you did have to keep you head on the side so it did not trickle out.

I always had the feeling that marrying a woman who was younger than myself would lead to that awkward complication - no matter what advice or remedies she offered, they wouldn't work...

That's the trouble with young wives tales... ha ha.

How is it that you're speshul enuff to have your id bolded?

It's very eye catching.

I've noticed it on the buying/selling boards for a couple of days now.

I dunno Stawks.   Maybe you had better ask the Mods why they did it.

It happened on Wednesday night....it appeared in my Notifications.  I am now an Honored Contributor and my ID is bolded.  I have no idea what I have done to be singled out (so far I am the only member singled out on the Au site that I can find).

I am not looking forward to the trolls returning to the boards and seeing it.....I fear the reactions will not be pleasant.

Maybe the trolls won't notice   (fat chance)

In the meantime..........
