There was a bit of rain overnight but it had cleared up by the early morning...
Spring hasn't sprung, yet, for the big tree out the back, so it's still bare...
I stood and looked at it for a while, a deep dark grey silhouetted against the equally deep dark blue overcast sky...
I looked, looked again... squinted...
Is that a lump in the tree?
Oh yes... there's a tail hanging down... ha ha.
Well, somebody survived the downpour, ha ha.
Mum magpie was in, earlier...
Stalking around the garden, thrusting her beak into the soft, wet ground, every so often...
I waved a piece of bread at her but no, there's worms and bugs to be had...
If she's still interested in the bread, she'll be back later, ha ha.
Entertaining though it is, I don't need to watch the AFL...
If I want to see vigorous, energetic leaping into the air, I'll wait out the back for the wrens, ha ha.
A two inch bird that can get two and a half feet off the ground in a single leap...
I'm impressed... ha ha.
I've no idea what it is that they're hunting, it's too small for me to see, but they can see it, and that's what matters, ha ha.
