I went out to top up the birdbath out the front and there's, "completely by coincidence", Mother magpie on the wall beside it....

We follow the usual routine - I say hang on, I'll get you a bit of bread and go inside, very rudely closing the screen door behind me... ha ha.

So she has to wait, on the doormat... ha ha.

It seemed easier to me to put the slice of bread down and let her manage it... So she did... ha ha.

When she'd torn off more pieces than I could count, she flew off...

In the direction of where I think the nest might be...

I thought this was going to be a quiet year... Maybe they're not telling me something, ha ha.

One of the parent wattlebirds sat on the edge of the birdbath...

Faintly, in the distance I could hear a baby wattlebird fading away... It must have been at least two minutes since it was fed last... ha ha.

Parent bird hopped up onto the small table and looked in the corner... Where's the banana? There was banana here yesterday... ha ha.

"If you'd been here at three this morning you would've seen a very large possum smugly eating the last of the banana.... Smugly because noone else had noticed it - Mine, all mine! Bwah ha ha ha!".

So yes, sorry bird, there's no banana... ha ha.

Nooo!  It's November 1st .....  Smiley Surprised  The pre Christmas sleeps are getting shorter but at least, I did the Christmas shopping and sewing in February and March, so that keeps the interior calm ....  Woman LOL

Good morning folks ....... Heart

It's "door" time for our house (ecar will be pleased!) ... three new doors with glass panels;  one with kookaburras, one with blue wrens and one with roses.   Kookaburras for the music room, wrens for the front entry and roses between the kitchen and sunroom ... oh happy day!  Let there be light, birds and the joy of colour ....  Smiley Very Happy

That's the picture from the internet as it's clearer than the one I took in the house;   we've have different handles.  These are all entry doors but two are cut down slightly and fitted internally quite easily, thankfully, so there were no hair raising problems.

At last, we've dipped back into the slightly warmer weather again after a slight reversal to winter where last week, there was actually snow in the mountains again, which was a nice surprise.

The fire danger on the mainland looks seriously threatening already .. Smiley Sad .. here's hoping that there are no nasty disasters through the summer;  everyone near the bush will have to be so careful and very prepared.

Our waratah tree has now lost it's beautiful flowers but the bottlebrush is a little late, so far, the 'stems' are only a pale white so we are hoping that they will burst into a beautiful red soon.

Have a great rest of the week and a good weekend .... Heart
