For starters... Barley bread, made with hand ground flour, of course. (Someone's going to be busy in the kitchen, ha ha).

For the main meal, lentil stew seasoned with herbs like cumin, or coriander, and served with cheese made from sheep or goats' milk, with olives, onions and bread. 

The accompanying fresh fruit includes figs and melon, as well as dried pomegranates and dates.

Wine, water and curdled milk, similar to liquid yogurt, will accompany the meal.

If it was good enough for the people of Nazareth, just down the road from Bethlehem, in the time of Jesus' birth, then I don't see why it doesn't grace more Christmas tables in the modern age... ha ha.

It was a warm one, today... by my reckoning it must've got up to 30 degrees...

I figured I'd better check on the possum, just in case...

When I got to her house she was lounging in the doorway...

Me - "Are you hot?"...

Possum - "Sweetie, I'm absolutely gorgeous"... ha ha.
