Is my computer hacked?

Few days back I received an email which came from my OWN email address.  I have several email addresses, this particular one is used only for various forums, emailing  friends etc.
The email said:  "I have installed Trojan in your computer, and I was able to use your email because I found out that your password is xxxxxxxxx, and unless you give me some money to my bitcoin account...."  The thing is the password they said they have was never used for any of my email addresses.  It was used for access to some forums, but never for anything important.  So, how much should I panic?  I have Bitdeffender installed, and running it came up with nothing.  Any suggestions?
I am in lot of pain and take painkillers, and cannot think straight.  So I just ignored it.

Thanks, yes it said that they got my info from porn site.  LOL but I never been to any porn site.

They are probably running a test and starting very (very, very) small by scamming the miniscule number of people who have not been to a porn site.Smiley LOL

If you are running with win 10 then run full scan with windows defender.

Don't panic and don't worry, they don't have any password of yours, they are trying to frighten and blackmail you, just ignore it, delete any of their emails and don't click on anything sent to you by them.

PS ... To be totally safe, also have your computer scanned for viruses and malware, then you will be totally safe .. xxx

Hope your pain gets better

I am having hips replacement done in February when the surgeon comes back from his holidays  🙂

Oh dear.   Will be good when it's done, but until then..............

I've known a fair few peeps had their hips replaced and I wouldn't wish that pain on anybody.

Good luck in February.
