That's what happens when you live in a city that goes around and around in circles. takecover.gif

Sometimes the cockatoos hiss... a short, sharp exhalation, usually when they're not happy, ha ha.

I've noticed that sometimes when they hiss, the tone of the hiss is different...

It's sounds like the "Thur" in Thursday... A little softer, not so much emphasis on the  "R" sound, but essentially it sounds like they're saying "Thur"...

I talked to one of the birds about it this afternoon, and it said that it's a much gentler hiss, not aggressive or defensive, if it had to narrow it down it would be "To Thur, with love"... ha ha.

What a long long week it has been already!

People everywhere in the house, they call themselves "the gannets" because they bring lots of food with them and then eat it (but we help them of course!) .... Woman LOL

It was supposed to be a group project .. over 30 people making a huge wall hanging, but what really happened was it became an elongated group picnic and not much work done until the very last few hours ...  Smiley Tongue

But who cares?  It's "Summer Time and the Living is Easy" (from Porgy and Bess) .. but as soon as February arrives, it will be working time and the living is busy!

Just reading back over the thread, looks like lots of heat as well as much rain for you folks?  Here, it's been really warm for too long which is somewhat unusual for Tasmania .. but then again, what has been happening on the mainland shows that it's been awful with flash floods at the moment, and extensively shocking heatwave conditions .. Smiley Sad

Hoping everyone here has managed to be reasonably comfortable through it all and that it will cool down soon and back to whatever normal is ... Heart
