The cockatoo sat at the edge of the hole in the pergola roof, looking down into the possum house, and cackled at me - There's something there...

So I got the box and climbed up for a look...

Yep, there's something there...

A big, bushy black tail resting against the back wall...

And a foot, lazily resting in mid air... ha ha...

And inbetween them about three quarters of a little grey person, back to the doorway, enjoying the fresh air... ha ha.

Of course, by the time I found the camera... ha ha...

They're happy, they're comfortable...

And if the worst comes to it and they find they chose the less comfortable of the two houses, tomorrow, when it's expected to get into the mid 30's... they know it's only a short dash to the other one...

And if the cockatoos are around I expect they'll let me know... They moved! They moved! ha ha.

The self same cockatoos who completely ignored the cat coming over the fence earlier on, today, and taking a pigeon, will scream the suburb down over a pair of possums making a mad dash across the garden... ha ha.

I ought to hire the birds out as watch dogs... "Are they any good?"... "Oh yeah, they'll sit and watch almost anything...", ha ha.

35 degrees today and apparently the same tomorrow...

Then it'll drop down to a much more civilised 32 or 33 degrees for a few days...

But don't let the sudden cool change fool you, ha ha... keep drinking...
